Week 5 analysis “Dress-up for elementary school”?...

When I was in elementary school it was jeans and t-shirts. If you wanted to “dress –up” for class you simply wore a dress or nice dress pants. For today’s elementary school girls not only do they wear jeans and t-shirts for every day wear they also feel they have to be just like mom and wear make-up to school. For some children they are not allowed to wear make-up. But for others they wear what I would consider too much make- up to school. Since I did not even question wearing make-up or dressing up for every day of school for me this is one subject that I as a mom have to say has gone too far. Now I understand that many girls want to be like the ones they see on television or in magazines but the whole glamour thing is too much for elementary school girls to be doing.
Some dermatologists would argue that wearing cosmetics is bad for your skin and complexion while others might say that if worn in moderation can be somewhat beneficial. I try to stay out of this whole argument. However I find my self as a mom of a first grader who is begging me to let her be like the other girls in her school and class for that matter and let her wear make-up. And dress outfits every day of the week.
This makes me want to stop and ask what ever happened to the fun of just being a kid?

4-1

since this module focused on hero's i am focusing my analysis on how much credit do we really give the normal every day hero's that put their lives on the line every day. The hero's that i am talking about are two different groups of people. The first group is the soldiers. And yes these guys do get a lot of acknowledgement and credit for keeping us a free country and assisting in pretty much policing the world. But do we give them enough credit for everything that they do?

the second group of people are our emergency service workers. This group of people includes the police officers and fire fighters that keep us safe and sound in our every day lives. Sometimes these people don't get all the credit they deserve. The police officers are often looked at as bad guys because a lot of them have to chase people down, give tickets and of course break up the fights and riots and then there is the breaking up parties.

Many of the officers in the united states have been in life and death situations more than once and often don't receive so much as a thank you for keeping us safe.

One of the issues that will be going on the November ballet for Franklin county in Columbus Ohio is doing a tax increase to help support these members of our community. I think that this is one issue that should be passed because shouldn't this be one way that we can say thank you for keeping us safe. In a since isn't it about time that we break down as a community and say thank you to our every day hero's that we pass every day and sometimes get aggravated with?

assignment 2-1

My analysis this week is focused on the growing ever so popular among all age groups MP3 players. These MP3 players are a great improvement from the older fashions of listening to music such as the walk man radio sets and the portable CD players. This specific item of musical entertainment can store your favorite songs so that you can listen to them at any given time.
One thing that is on the plus side for this item is that it is small and compact so that the mp3 player can fit in virtually any pocket or hiding space.
However in a sense these MP3 Players have somewhat become a problem in some schools and work places. The reason they are becoming a problem is that they can be hidden and many individuals and students are listening to music instead of listening to a lecture or working on an assignment. In some cases individuals are also becoming so involved in their music that they are forgetting to pay attention to detail which is important.
Though many adults have learned to multi task it can be debated on whether listening to music while in the workplace can be productive while in an office setting. And lets face the truth here even I must admit it is easy to lose track of what needs to be done when your favorite song is on the radio. Another fact that can be pointed out is that it is very difficult to carry on a conversation with someone who has ear pieces playing music in their ears.
